Throughout are manuscript additions in red ink giving further details .Reinforcing end papers have been added and six photographs inserted of Ashopton Village and environs now below the reservoir. New York: Crown Publishers, 1977. Blue Cloth. Very Good/Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall Z 401 pp. 1977. Thirty-third printing. A lovely, clean, tight fresh near fine copy in a good wrapper. No inscriptions. Profusely illustrated with black and white photographic plates. Includes lists of hallmarks. Slight foxing to the fore-edges. The dust wrapper has been price-clipped. It has a couple of larger tears with associated creases one to the head and one to the spine of the wrapper - the largest tear being around 4.5cm in length. Several short tears with associated creasing to the head of the wrapper, now repaired with acid free archival tape to the reverse of the wrapper. A slight crease to one corner of the rear flap of the wrapper. A lovely very good copy plus copy in a good wrapper. (Book ref. 228208) £15.00

A scarce signed presentation copy from the author - who who wrote many of the Chats on collecting series. The author has written in a neat ink hand to the front endpaper. 'To my old friend Frederick Arup. with every good wish Arthur Hayden 16th November 1920.' Numerous plate - photographic reproductions are present and all called for. The spine embossed with silver and the front board blind-stamped. Tissue-guarded frontispiece. A couple of edges rough-cut. Some foxing throughout - most notable to the fore-edges.
