Jourdain, M. The History of English Secular Embroidery
London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner and Co Limited, 1910. Illustrated by Illustrated. 1st Edition. Red Cloth. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall 202pp. 1910. A first edition with all 58 illustration plates as called for. In fair or good minus condition. The text block remains very clean and tight and all plates are firmly attached. The front board however has been exposed to damp/water and has warped. There is also a notable stain to the front paste-down, which does not extend to the front endpaper or any other page of the book. There is a loss of gilt to the title on the front board (if it was ever gilt embossed). The spine is gilt embossed. The extreme tips of some upper corners are missing - probably caused in the printing/binding process. A very good copy but for the warped front board. (Book ref. 226161) £30.00
