Scottish Mountaineering Trust, 1991. Illustrated by Colour Photographs / Plates & Maps. Revised Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo 0907521096 Reprint. Dust jacket complete. Red cloth with bright gilt titling. Previous owner's details on ffep. Frontis portrait. Colour Photographs / Plates & Maps. 134 pages clean and tight. Some magazine articles tipped in on end papers. MUNRO'S TABLES of the 3000 ft. mountains of Scotland. CORBETT'S TABLES of 2500 ft. summits. DONALD'S TABLES of the 2000 ft. hills in the Lowlands of Scotland. The 1981 edition of Munro' Tables was based on the O.S. 2nd Series metric cue, few of which were available when the preparatory work was done for the edition which came out in 1974. A complete revision was carried out of all heights, whether Munros, Corbetts or Donalds. There has been further revision for the 1984 edition and there are now 277 Munros and 517 Tops, with Corbetts totalling 221, 87 Donalds and 138 Tops with 28 points in the appendix. Details of all these changes are given in the notes to the respective Tables. Heights have been taken in most cases from 1:50,000 2nd Series O.S. maps but where heights are missing from the 1:50,000, reference has been made to 1:25,000 or 1:10,000 maps. These large scale maps include some heights which have been published since the appearance of the 2nd Series 1:50,000 maps and a number of heights have been changed by the O.S. and these have been used in the Tables. This means, of course, that heights given in the Tables will in some cases differ from those in the 1:50,000 maps. A numbered index has been provided for the Corbetts, the same system of numbering being also applied to the Munros index. Cover photograph: Liathach from Loch Clair by Douglas Scott.
