Adam & Marianne Naylor established Bookfare in 1977 selling secondhand and antiquarian books from a shop in Edinburgh. Fifteen years later a second shop was opened in Windermere. Bookfare is now an internet business, offering books on a wide range of subjects with an emphasis on history and literature. New titles are added to the site daily so please browse the stock through the link below.

There are two ways for you to look through our stock
  • Browse (recommended): Click here to browse through all our stock, starting with the most recently added items

  • Search: Use the search boxes at the top of this page to find books in your own area of interest.  If searching, enter as little information as possible. One or two words in total (three at most) are normally sufficient to find what you're looking for if we have it; any more and you're unlikely to find anything.
