A UKBookGallery upgrade to your UKBookWorld ordinary account provides additional targetted indexing to your internet book-for-sale listings. This gives your less commonly-found and more valuable books (by default, those priced at £20 and over) greatly increased chances of appearing in the search results on major internet search engines for author and title searches.
Should I upgrade?
If there are scores of examples of any of your individual titles already offered for sale on the internet by other booksellers then the chances of your copy appearing at the top of search-engine listings as a result of an author and title search is small, whatever we do about it.
The main purpose of the UKBookGallery upgrade is to get as many as possible of your less commonly found and more valuable items - by default, those priced at £20 and over - near the top of search results.
So, as a rule of thumb, if you have a worthwhile number of your titles priced at over £20 or so then it's worth considering an upgrade - one single sale in the year gained through the added exposure will pay for the upgrade charge. However if your books are generally low value titles then it's probably not worth upgrading.
Upgrade your books today
Arranging enhanced UKBookGallery indexing for your books-for-sale listings is both easy and inexpensive. Upgrade today and we'll do the indexing work immediately on your books already listed on UKBookWorld. It'll then take, typically, 7-14 days for the major search-engines to start incorporating the data into their indexes (see the final section at the bottom of this page for more details on this).
You don't have to upload your books to UKBookWorld differently than you do already - we'll do the additional indexing automatically.
If you are NOT already a UKBookWorld subscriber:
To get the benefits of UKBookGallery listings for your better books, you need to already have a personal webpage with UKBookWorld where you list your books for sale. Only UKBookWorld subscribers can use UKBookGallery. You can get more details of how to be a UKBookWorld subscriber here.
If you ARE already a UKBookWorld subscriber ...
... then you'll know that the existing UKBookWorld annual subscription pricing structure for ordinary accounts is £24 for up to 1,000 books; £36 for 1,001 - 5,000; £48 for 5,001-10,000; £60 for 10,000 - 25,000; etc.
Upgrading an ordinary account to include UKBookGallery listings costs the same rate again in each case. Thus the total cost of an Ordinary subscription PLUS the UKBookGallery upgrade is exactly double the cost of the Ordinary subscription alone, as shown in the table below.
How to upgrade
If you're at the beginning of a 12-month annual subscription to UKBookWorld and haven't yet paid your annual subscription for the coming year, you can pay for the upgrade at the same time as your ordinary annual subscription. Do this now by going to our normal payment page where you can decide whether to pay for just an ordinary subscription or for an ordinary subscription plus the UKBookGallery upgrade.
If you're already part of the way through an annual subscription (e.g. 5 months in to a 12 month subscription period), then you need to pay at a pro-rata rate for the UKBookGallery upgrade for the remaining months of your existing annual subscription as shown in the right-hand column of the table below.
To upgrade part way through an existing ordinary UKBookWorld subscription period, send payment for the appropriate amount, calculated using the right-hand column above, by cheque, made payable to "UKBookWorld", to UKBookGallery, The Clique, 7 Pulleyn Drive, York YO24 1DY, remembering to tell us what the cheque is for.
Alternatively, phone us on 01904 631752 or email to arrange payment by credit/debit card through PayPal.
Finally, how long does it take for this indexing to take effect on major search-engines?
Whilst we do the indexing work immediately on receiving your upgrade request, it's out of our hands as to when the various search engines crawl your website again to pick up new information and incorporate the data into their search indexes. Because of this we can make no guarantees as to how long any particular batch of newly-indexed books might take to appear, either in part or completely.
However, we generally reckon that new information starts appearing in the major search engine search results some 7-14 days after being set up.
Having said that, it's important that you recognise that due to the vagaries of the individual major search engines as to when and how they list the results of searches made through their databases, the UKBookGallery service should be regarded as a long-term ongoing exercise to greatly improve your overall search-engine results, not one guaranteed to bring results overnight to any one particular title.
